The magic of surprises: I love when a person I feel that I know does something that completely mystifies me. Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen with that many people or too often. Write about a time when somebody you thought you knew completely surprised you. Now go back and write it from the other person’s perspective.
How we see a place has a lot to do with how we feel about it and our experiences there. Think about your favorite place that you’ve visited. Describe it, but from the eyes of a person native to that place.

For five minutes, make a list of people who lived over 1000 years from now. When you are finished, look over the list and think about what the people on it did to acquire their fame. What does it take to be remembered by future generations? Do you think anybody alive today will be remembered in 1000 years?
Modern Gods: Greek Gods ruled the ancient world. They were also said to be immortal. Imagine the Greek Gods are still living today. Pick one god and write a story about his or her modern life: what kind of job they have, their powers, how they learned to cope with change, etc.
Taking care of business: Pearl diver, stone balancer, shot girl, egg smeller, cheese sprayer…Pick an unusual job, hobby, or occupation and write a story about a day in the life of a person who practices that hobby, job, or occupation.
In 2007 near Verona, Italy, two skeletons were found locked in an embrace during construction work for a factory building. Archeologists determined that they are around 5,000 to 6,000 years old and are almost certainly a man and a woman who died young, judging by their intact teeth. Write the story of this pair
