Local Portlanders are mobilizing their resources and talents to stage a series of fundraising events covering 7 days over several weeks. All proceeds will be donated to our devastated brothers and sisters in Haiti.

It is our goal that each event will have ZERO overhead, so that every dollar can be contributed directly to the Haitian cause. This means we will work on the donations of time, space, and resources contributed by individuals and local businesses.

All proceeds will be donated to MercyCorps and earmarked for Haiti. MercyCorps has only 9 cents of overhead on every dollar, meaning that 91 cents go directly to Haitians in need. They also have a long history in Haiti and are invested in serving the country effectively over the long haul.

The kickoff event will be Valentine's day weekend - a day when we're traditionally encouraged to share tender sentiments with those we care about. Events will go on for several weeks, spanning 7 days total.
