Nov 16, 2011 - 10 Guaranteed Ways to Get More Google+ Page Followers As the newest marketing weapon in your social media arsenal, Google+ Pages provide businesses with yet another powerful opportunity to connect with fans, prospects, and customers, as well as promote content to generate new leads. But let's face it: starting a brand new social presence from scratch is kind of a pain. And without an ample following, all the time and effort you put into your presence is ultimately a waste.
To help you start getting the most out of your new Google+ business presence, here are 10 guaranteed ways to attract new Google+ Page followers.
Nov 15, 2011 - SEO for Google+ Profiles and Pages - Search Engine Watch (#SEW) One thing I've been particularly obsessed with recently is the SEO elements of social profiles. It began with checking out the SEO for Facebook fan pages and then onto social content. Now, it's time to take a look at the differences between the optimization of your Google+ personal profile and the new Google+ Pages.
Gabriel Vasile - CREATING, USING & PROMOTING GOOGLE+ PAGES PROPERLY (The Ultimate Tutorial) Ok, so I've seen a lot of articles about Google+ pages, but none seemed to be complete and I wanted a fast way of understanding, using and promoting Google+ pages. So I made a slideshow to help you out faster then ever with this new Google+ pages. At the bottom of the post you'll find some interesting articles that inspired me.
This is a very long post, so I recommend after you finish the parapraph to look at the slideshow first. After that you can look at 6 GOOGLE PLUS BUSINESS PAGE VIDEOS YOU NEED TO SEE https://plus.google.com/u/0/106393478695568433143/posts/M2y8H81RnnF and then you can get some deeper understanding by reading the post if you want to or if you're looking for the links in the photos. Now you can just watch the slideshow.
Nov 9, 2011 - Neil Ferree - Google+ - What If Someone Else Makes “Your” Page? Anyone can make a business page for any URL without providing proof that they somehow “own” or are associated with that URL. Potentially, that means pages can pretend to be representing a site they’re not connected with.
Verification for big brands (see below) is one way Google aims to combat any problems this might cause. Google also told me that until a Google+ page is connected to a web site (see below), pages also cannot put icons or badges up, nor will they have a chance at being shown in a Direct Connect display.
Google+ Brand Pages & Beyond Google+ Brand Pages andBeyondA preview of Google+ Brand Pages and the opportunitiesthey hold for marketers
Nov 9, 2011 - Robert Scoble - Google+ - Why do brands need to care about Google+? Our Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/rackspacehost has 4,449 people who like it. That's after a few years of hosting a page there.
After less than two days on Google+ +Rackspace Hosting already has more than 2,100 followers.
And we haven't even started talking about the potential search engine visibility, or other reasons to do Google+ pages yet.
This is why I'm frustrated with the lack of tools here to really manage such an account with teams of people.
Nov 8, 2011 - Robert Scoble - Google+ - I wish I had never heard of Google+'s brand pages… John Blossom - +Robert Scoble very valid points, though one assumes that they will be addressed over time. My general thought is that Pages can be used as a collaborative announcement feed, much as official corporate blogs do now. In that sense the do fit in to what a public company needs to do, as a single admin account could be controlled by different people over time without having to re-establish a personal ID. In other words, a single person controlling the Pages but that person being able to change over time. I can see where in some ways a feature like Pages may in fact replace some aspects of corporate blogging, since it's a fully public feature on the Web (unlike Facebook pages that require a login) and would therefore meet the requirements of public disclosure. Any way you look at it, this is only a first step, probably.

Why not?
Well, when you work for a public company anything you post as a representative of that company needs to be done very carefully (I work on the media team at Rackspace, going around the world studying the bleeding edge of the technology industry). The problem is that there’s no editorial tools for anything posted to our Google+ account. Google+ brand accounts are woefully inadequate for public companies’ needs. Let’s discuss some of the limitations
