Buried Treasure is an American reality television Appraisal series that debuted on the Fox network on August 24, 2011.[1] The show is hosted by two professional appraisers, Leigh and Leslie Keno of Antiques Roadshow notability, who travel to people's houses in search of valuable items to appraise and sell for their owners. The show often features home owners who are in need of money, due to illness or other financial difficulties, that would evoke emotion in the audience.[2] The premiere of the show attracted only 3.6 million viewers, while a competing show, Pawn Stars, typically receives twice as many viewers each week.[3] It was not renewed for a second season.[4]

Leigh Ronald Keno and Leslie Bernard Keno (born March 14, 1957) are American antiques experts, authors, and television hosts.[1][2]
The Kenos specialize in stoneware, early American furniture and vintage automobiles. They are widely known as appraisers on the PBS series Antiques Roadshow, for favoring preservation of antiques over restoration, and for their engaging, high-energy personalities. [3]
The Kenos were born identical twin sons to Norma and Ronald Keno who were both themselves antiques dealers in Herkimer County, New York,[4] and grew up in Mohawk, New York. Leigh was born 13 minutes before his brother.[5] Their father collected and restored vintage sports cars, and both their parents specialized in folk art and country furniture.[6] Their mother would take them out of school on Fridays to regional flea markets and antiques shows.[7] The brothers took interest, were earning $200 or $300 a weekend by the time they were in the fourth grade, and by age twelve had entered in their joint diary "We are Antique Dealers."[7][6] While also enjoying more typical boyhood pursuits (football, fly-fishing, playing in a rock band) the twins took a special interest in stoneware.[7] At age fourteen they set the world record for American stoneware, paying $3,500 for an American salt-glazed stoneware jug.[6]

The human drama of reality television is mixed with the excitement of revealing some valuable art and antiques on a new FOX-TV series hosted by identical twin brothers Leigh Keno and Leslie Keno. The two Americana experts debut in "Buried Treasure" on Aug. 24 at 8pm/7pm Central. The duo expands upon the appraisal model from the popular 15-years-running "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS to the more intimate setting of private homes nationwide. They sleuth for worthy finds from basement to attic for ...
