Burnt Bridge Cellars is a small artisan winery located in Vancouver, Washington. Owners David Smith and Mark Mahan began making wine together in 2008, bringing their dream of operating a winery to fruition in the fall 2010 with a 300 case harvest of Bordeaux and Rhone varietal fruit from the Columbia River AVA, primarily from the Walla Walla Valley and Sunnyside Valley. Our wines have won gold and silver at the largest international amateur wine competition, and a Gold Medal at the Seattle Wine Awards for our 2010 Les Collines Viognier.
A background of engineering, science, music, food and love of wine is blended together to reveal a product that is a balance of art and science. Finding the best fruit grown in Washington, treating it with care during crush, using only minimal interventions necessary to allow for varietal expressiveness while embracing each vintage’s unique features has produced wines with exceptional varietal character and balance.
The tasting room has been closed since mid-February when we ran out of just about all of our wine. We appreciate the wonderful response to Burnt Bridge Cellars from all of you that made our first year such a great success! We bottled our 2013 spring release wine in late February. Labels are finally here so we’ll soon be ready to share our new vintages of wines with you- 2012 whites and 2011 Rhone-style reds. The official date for re-opening the tasting room is Saturday, April 20th. Wine club release parties will be held a bit earlier for our club members, so if you’re interested in joining the club, visit the club page.
Our new tasting room hours will be 12 noon to 5pm Saturday and Sunday, and 4pm to 8pm on First Friday (Art Walk).
