Finally sitting down to read Silver Linings Playbook after obsessing over the movies for years was truly amazing. The book did not disappoint, and I felt as if I was able to get to know the characters even better in the book than I did in the movie. Although the movie was outstanding, reading the entire book gave me such an intimate glimpse of Pat's mind that the movie lacked.
The intricate details the author puts in the store add so much value to the story and themes. There is an authentic visual of Pat and Tiffany's mental struggles on every single page. People who can relate to mental illnesses and broken hearts can find closure in Pat's similar experiences and those who have not experienced such tragedies can get an image of what it may be like.
I would recommend this book to anyone in the need of healing or answers about life. I know that I personally fell in love with the movie because of the way it put a lot of my feelings and experiences into words. Reading the actual book gave me even more closure and hope about the craziness of life and love. There is something particularly special about a book that puts your heart into words and Silver Linings Playbook does just that.
